Ounce Labs, the leader in software security assurance, today announced it has named Hugh Scandrett as president and Chief Executive Officer. Founder Jack Danahy will remain on the company’s board of directors and on the management team as Chief Technology Officer.
“We’ve achieved several important milestones as a company this year, and the market is maturing very quickly for us,” said Danahy. “We are happy to have brought Hugh to Ounce because he has the general management skills and business experience required to build on our current momentum. Hugh has proven success in the rapid growth of successful software businesses, and we are looking forward to achieving even greater successes with his efforts and leadership.”
“The value Ounce Labs offers to enterprises needing to build and run secure applications is clear,” said Scandrett. “The products allow customers like AT&T, the US Navy, and the Defense Information Systems Agency to more successfully analyze and manage their software risk. The Ounce Labs team has developed extraordinary technology that has positioned the company extremely well in this market, and I’m excited to be a part of the team.”
Before joining Ounce Labs, Scandrett served as vice president of development for IBM Rational. His responsibilities there included executive leadership and engineering management for the family of Rational products, which exceeded $750 million before the IBM acquisition. His previous positions include vice president and general manager for the ClearCase business unit of Rational Software, as well as executive, engineering, and product management positions at DSC Communications and Nortel Networks.
