BuyerZone.com, the online marketplace for business purchasing, announced today that it has been named to Deloitte's "Technology Fast 50" program for New England for the third consecutive year. BuyerZone.com, one of only 10 companies to have made the list for the last three years, is ranked #6 out of hundreds of public and private companies in the New England area for its 1,477% growth from 1999 through 2003.
"We are honored to be recognized as one of the fastest growing technology companies in New England for the third year in a row," stated Sam Zales, President and CEO of BuyerZone.com. "Our objective is to help businesses across the U.S. grow and succeed by streamlining the business purchasing process for both buyers and sellers, and BuyerZone's continued growth is a testament to our ability to provide that ideal marketplace. Buyers can access expert purchasing advice and competitive price quotes on critical business purchases for free, and suppliers get connected directly to active buyers of their products and services."
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2003, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues (using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify); and/or devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.
"In today's economy, quadruple-digit percentage revenue growth over five years is an exceptional accomplishment", said Stephen DiPietro, Deloitte partner responsible for the New England Technology Fast 50 Program. "We commend BuyerZone.com for making the commitment to technology and delivering on the promise of market longevity. We are proud to honor BuyerZone as a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winner."
The New England Technology Fast 50 program, sponsored by Deloitte, recognizes the fastest growing technology companies headquartered in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Technology Fast 50 rankings are based on the percentage growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999-2003. Winners are selected as a result of public and private company research and nominations. The New England Technology Fast 50 Program is co-sponsored by Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, and is supported by Mazonson, the American Stock Exchange and Mass High Tech.
