Ounce Labs Continues Growth With Strategic Additions to Board of Directors

September 21, 2004 - Waltham, MA

Ounce Labs, Inc., the leader in software vulnerability risk management, today announced it has added Tom Bogan and Shaun McConnon to its board of directors.  Through their notable successes with market-leading information security and software companies, both bring a proven record of effective management and leadership to Ounce Labs’ already well-established board.

“Ounce Labs is growing at a rapid pace, and Shaun and Tom have had the kind of success and experience that will help us to drive that growth in the most productive direction,” said Jack Danahy, CEO of Ounce Labs.  “They understand how to meet evolving industry demands and how to build remarkable companies with strong customer relationships.

Tom Bogan is a Venture Partner with Greylock Partners and served previously as President and COO of Rational Software until it was acquired by IBM for $2.1 billion in 2003.  He has served twice as President and CEO of early-stage technology companies and has extensive operational and financial experience.  He currently serves as a Director of Citrix Systems and mValent, and is a trustee of Stonehill College.

“I am excited to join Ounce Labs as it makes the transition from startup to established provider,” said Bogan.  “They are early leaders in a segment that I predict will grow very quickly to meet demands for better risk management of software vulnerabilities and more secure software.”

Shaun McConnon currently serves as CEO of Q1 Labs, a leading network security company in Waltham, Massachusetts.  Previously, he served as CEO of Okena, Inc., from inception to its successful acquisition by Cisco Systems in April 2003.  He also served as CEO of Raptor Systems, a pioneering firewall company, directing it through a successful IPO and then its sale to Axent Technologies.

“Growth in the security market requires a strong complement of product innovation and close relationships with customers and partners,” said McConnon.  “Ounce Labs has developed technology to address a core problem with information security, and its leadership team has the experience to build that advantage into a widely successful business."
